Down But Not Out

Aerx has created Down But Not Out for B42. We're using a version of it for Chapter 3 B41 which includes the following:

Skill Restore and Knockdowns

Now you'll be able to set a respawn point and save your skills and stats at any bed.

When your HP brings you close to dying, you'll instead be knocked down on the floor. You'll be able to crawl around, but you're at the mercy of someone else picking you up before the timer on your screen reaches 0. If your game crashes while knocked down, the mod will catch that and you'll log back in still knocked down.
Keep in mind that this timer will continue to tick down even if you remain logged out and will not reset when you log back in. So if you take too long, log in and you'll find yourself dead.

Your wounds won't cause you to bleed out while you're knocked down, but will resume bleeding you out when you're picked back up. For first aid characters, it's good practice to attend to a player before picking them up, if there's time.

Now you've been picked up, you'll notice a new "Knockdowns" moodle appear, counting how often you've been knocked down recently. Over time, this counter will go down. But keep in mind, if you get knocked down too much in a short period, the knockdown UI will tell you "If you get knocked down again, there's no going back up." telling you that if you get knocked down again, your character will die instead.

Revives and Wounds

Now you died. You get the option to revive. Character creation is skipped, you respawn with the same looks, name and build as before you died. You will have to use the bed again to get your xp and stats back, as well as any traits you might have earned during roleplay.

When you do revive, you'll notice you have a new moodle. "Wounds", representing how wounded your character is from a close encounter with death. "Wounds" will slowly heal over time, even while offline.
Keep in mind if your "Wounds" rack up too high, you'll get a "Last Life" moodle. As the name implies. If your character dies with this moodle, they will permanently die!
