Safehouses are important. Learn their rules and what protections they offer to you and your guests.

🏡 What is a safehouse?

A safehouse is an area protected by game mechanics where only the owner and its members can interact with the containers and items, also forbidding anyone else from right-clicking on the floor.

Think of them as your base, a safe spot to shield your items from prying hands.

🔒 What’s Protected by Raid Rules?

  • Anything inside walls or a gated area counts as part of your safehouse -this also includes decorations and crops. Protection extends to unclaimed vehicles inside walled/gated areas.
  • Generators attached to your property are protected too.
  • Leaving items inside walls or a gated area, even if you're not inside the mechanically safehoused area, requires a ticket.
Even if the game allows you to physically pick up items in these spaces, you are not permitted to remove or damage anything without an approved Raid ticket.

🔑 Friendly Thievery

Being added to a safehouse as a member doesn't entitle you to take its belongings -for this, you must open a raid ticket.

It will not have the same requirements as a raid, but we do need to know the details of what you're taking, when, and how. If you have the consent of the person you're stealing from, indicate that as well -just telling them in DMs doesn't fulfill the rules requirements.

📏 Rules for Safehouses

One safehouse per character

  • You can mechanically own only one safehouse; whether it’s your home, business, or your group’s base.
  • Group leaders get one group base but can’t claim another personal one.

Reasonable sizes only

Do not claim huge areas like entire apartment buildings -this hogs loot from others. If you want something big, open a ticket so staff can help adjust the size or approve it.

Realistic builds only

No floating bases, weird towers, or strange structures. Some swampland/river areas may need special skills for builds to be viable there. If you're trying to build on water, make a ticket.

Stay active and visit your base frequently

Log in regularly and visit your safehouse to keep the claim active. If you do not visit it for 10 real-life days, the claim disappears and other players can loot it.

If you have a major life issue and know you'll be taking a break for longer than 10 days, open a ticket to discuss with staff. We try to help where we can, but that doesn't mean we can hold major locations safe from raids or keep a lot of loot safe while your character is not around.

Tickets for non-residential areas/custom sizes

If you’re claiming something like a store or factory, or you built your own spot, submit a ticket.

Until approved, you can mark the area as "pending" with an in-game sign/exclaim. It must have your character's name and the OOC date to be valid. Any exclaims older than 3 days are not valid.

🏘️ Group bases

Many groups have some sort of shared base, HQ or meetup spot. This group safehouse can vary in size, depending on the amount of members your group has and how many actively reside in the safehouse.

We will not restrict the amount of people that can stay at a safehouse at a given time but with an increasing number of members, the raid risks scale as well. More safehouse members means more people online that can be subject to a raid, and usually not everyone is at the group's base all the time. Consider this risk when recruiting.

A group with a larger than needed safehouse, be it due to members leaving or because they don't actively use the safehouse as living space, needs to defend their property realistically and to a reasonable extent. For example. a group of two people cannot claim an entire warehouse for themselves.

You can't get an area safehoused if:

  • The area has unique tiles that would get destroyed
  • The area is too large for the amount of people in your group
  • The building has a lot of highly sought after loot spawns

Before requesting a claim, ask yourself:

  • Can my group defend this place in the case of an attack?
  • Do we really need all this space?
  • Can we expand upwards or into a direction if needed?

If you still want to claim the area, open a ticket and request a custom safehouse.
